Bastille GMTF Tour with Alice Merton

Aren’t live shows just the absolute best?!?!

Well, I had the chance to catch Bastille and Alice Merton 4x during this tour…

1) Arizona at the Mesa Ampitheatre 17 May

2) Las Vegas at The Theatre at Virgin Hotels 18 May

3) LA’s YouTube Theater 20 May

And lastly the gorgeous

Vina Robles Ampitheatre in Paso Robles on the 21st

Honestly… Bastille are one of my all time favorites, so seeing them is always a great time and with them coming to town for the first time after a long minute, I had to see them more than once, right?! The band, the music, the community, there is so much to look forward to when going to their shows!

First, seeing them in Mesa, Arizona Alice Merton who notably sings the brilliant tune “No Roots” opened up. Each show I can say was a slightly different performance, but in the best way as it’s always nice to see artists mix it up a little. Alice and her insanely talented band were amazing night after night! Even without her full band who sadly couldn’t all make it, brought the energy and passion to the stage each performance. You could really tell how much they all enjoyed being up there and it’s always the best seeing the artists on stage loving the moment. This time around her band consisted of Guitarist Regi Drake & Drummer Lucas Heiby as well as herself. The 3 of them each brought their own energy which created such a fun vibe and had me and many others thoroughly enjoying their entire set!

Bastille now, I don’t know how they manage it every time, but every show I’ve been to of theirs not only is their performance one of the best, but their openers are just as brilliant! I love music and shows and I always make it early to see every artist perform, but sometimes the energy is bit off and with all of their openers I can’t remember a time where even one was off. So, just note… if you’ve never been to a Bastille show, absolutely DO NOT miss the opener, because then you’ll be sad and why do you want that?! To be fair you should always make it to any show in time to watch all acts though, because you might miss your new favorite artist.

So, on to Bastille’s performance or shall I say performances… well each time was incredible. The energy, the songs, they just tie it all together so well with a neat little bow. The unique live touches they add to the songs make the shows that much more special! Like, their iconic song “Pompeii” this time around they added in an extended intro which I absolutely adore. Their shows I can honestly say are an experience! They bring you into their world and leave you wanting more. I could go on and on about how incredibly talented they are and how wonderful their live shows are as well, but I think that’s something you should allow yourself to experience if you haven’t already🧡

This tour I had the chance to meet so many people that I hadn’t had the chance to meet before and many of them came from around the country and beyond. The dedication that this fan base has is amazing and incredibly special and I’m so happy to be apart and know so many wonderful people because of it. Music makes the world go round and live shows heal the soul! After all of the nonstop craziness of the world, seeing some shows, screaming your lungs out and dancing around like a fool is sometimes the best way to treat yourself. I know I feel loads better after taking a moment to enjoy these shows!

Thank you Bastille and Alice Merton for the shows, the energy and the happiness!
