Top 5 Albums of 2017

Hello,

Hope you're enjoying your holidays. Crazy that it's already a new year once again, though. Went by so fast!

Now on to the list...

So many great albums came out in 2017, which is amazing because who doesn't love new music.? Now with all this new music, there were some albums that especially stood out for me which I decided to make a list of my top 5 favorites. These 5 albums I can listen to from start to finish all day long. I genuinely love every single song, and to be honest, I've listened to each of these albums at least 20 times... at least. Catchy tunes, amazing lyrics, and just wonderfully pieced together stories.

This list isn't in any specific order. I really don't think I could choose favorites from these 5.

Let us know what your favorite album or albums of 2017 are.

1. Don't You Worry, Honey - Sir Sly

Favorite Song: Fun

Β

If I were to describe this album, I would say it's colorful. There are so many thoughts and emotions that run through the songs and it's just a whole mix of things.

2. Broken Machine - Nothing But Thieves

Favorite Song: Hell, Yeah

To describe this album, I'd have to say emotional. There's a certain darkness to these songs, but they give you a sense of warmth and light at the same time. They present an honesty to the thoughts that go on in your own head.

3. Youth is Only Ever Fun in Retrospect - Sundara Karma

Favorite Song: Happy Family

Now describing this album is a bit difficult. I don't know why... So, for this one I'm just going to say I love it and you should definitely listen. It's wonderful album!

4. Rationale - Rationale

Favorite Song: Somewhere to Belong

So this album, I feel like is very much his story. It's got a lot of life in it that I think is so much more than just the everyday thought. There's a lot of deep emotion that extends to the bigger issues of life.? Things that aren't so easily solved, but you have to learn to grown with.

5. Lost in Translation - New Politics

Favorite Song: Lifted

This album to me is fun and full of energy. I get a sense of freedom of the songs and they have reminders that you should do you and enjoy your life. They have a vibe that you shouldn't take everything so serious. This is definitely a great album to listen to when needing that sort of pick me up.

Who are you looking forward to getting new music from this new year?

The time I saw David Bowie live…

Headliner:
David Bowie

Opening Acts:
The Go Go's & Madness

I was only 13 years old when I was Officially Introduced to David Bowie and his music.
I was excited to watch The Go Go's as my parents took me partly because it was music we would all enjoy at one event, But i will NEVER forget watching David Bowie walk out on stage. The way he carried himself as if "FUC* YOU ALL" I am here, enjoy the show.
To me, this was my WoodStock. Everyone sang with him and of course i knew a few songs but i was very intrigued by the way he performed. I couldn't wait to find out more about this man, this person who stood on stage with colored spiky hair, tight fitting clothes and high heels.
I couldn't help but want to be him. He sang words i didn't understand and wondered how he made them fit so perfectly together. I was instantly a FAN at the very site of this Great Artist.

Throughout the years I followed David Bowie but being the private person he was i could never obsess over him. But in saying that, it doesn't mean i wasn't a Fan! Hearing his voice always brought a calmness over me that Melted me inside. The very sound of his voice would carry me back to the very moment, i watched David Bowie perform live in his habitat. I say that because he was so comfortable with who he was and what he was doing. He played from his heart and it could be felt by all.

Thank You for introducing me to Art, Music, and Life as you seen it. Your Stamp has been made and i will treasure your work and enjoy the memories everytime I hear your voice.

"Frankly, I mean, sometimes the interpretations I've seen on some of the songs that I've written are a lot more interesting than the input that I put in."
