Album Releases for March

List of new albums we're excited for this month from our favourite artists. March is coming in strong with new tunes for sure.

Hello there, so I've been trying to come up with something to write and post since I'm just about the worst when it comes to writing, and I thought why not do a post every month about albums I'm excited for and albums that came out the year before that I am still buzzing about. I figured it would give me a bit of practice writing and I'd be able to share with you the artists and albums I love. Does that sound like a go? If so, read below(hehe I rhymed)

*Now since I'm starting this a little late into 2016, I thought I would list albums from January and February in another post.

Today March 4th there are actually a few albums I'm eager to hear:

LΓ₯psley - Long Way Home

Buy/Stream her album here.

Every song I've listened to thus far that had been released I've very much adored. To the left I've put a video of her's that had come out more recently for her song "Hurt Me". I'm not going to say this is my favourite and that's only because I truly can't pick just one.

What do you think of LΓ₯psley? Fan or Not?

    The Struts - Everybody Wants

I first heard The Struts about 2 weeks or so before KROQ Acoustic 2015. I was planning on attending the show, so I had a look at the lineup so I could check out the other bands I wasn't familiar with.  First hearing them I loved their sound, I thought it was catchy and had that nice rock & roll vibe. Singer Luke Spiller even has a bit of Freddie Mercury happening in his voice... and his wardrobe. I'm looking forward to listening to this album to see what else they have in store.

Miike Snow - ‘‘‘

I think I first heard Miike Snow when I was watching/listening to songs on youtube. The video for their song "Genghis Khan" started to play automatically and I really liked it. It had an upbeat catchy vibe to it and I just plain liked it. I'm excited to listen to their new album to hopefully find some more catchy good tunes or just good tunes.

Miike Snow, yes or no?

March 11: Gavin James releases his debut album

I first heard and saw Gavin James in May(?) last year when he opened up for Kodaline at The Wiltern here in Los Angeles. I heard a few songs of his online, prior to attending the show but his voice is one of those that you have to hear live. Once I heard him live I immediately became a big fan. It's amazing how clean and pure his voice is live. To listen to his music is one thing, but to hear it live is completely another. I have a strong feeling that when this album comes out it will likely be on repeat.

Gavin James for the win or no?

March 25: Birdy releases her album

Birdy - Beautiful Lies

Pre-order her album here

I can't remember when I heard Birdy for the first time, but I do know it's been awhile. What I do remember though, is that I'd constantly listen to her whilst painting and that was always the best choice. Mostly what she's put out had been covers, brilliant covers I might add, but I'm excited to hear this album since she's putting out her own stuff now.  To the left you can watch and listen to her song "Keeping Your Head Up" which is already a favourite of mine off the album.

Birdy, yay or nay?

These are a few of the artists that I know of that are currently releasing a new album or that have just released a new album. I'm sure there are so many other great artists that I've missed so if you have any recommendations please let us know.

There are a couple albums that were released last year during March that I still love to listen to.

The first is...

I heard about The Maine a few years back just after they released their first album. They've consistently been a favourite of mine and each and every album has a growing sound of what this band is becoming. Something about them is just so great because they make catchy songs that still continue to hold an honesty to them. I would love to go about why I think they're great on but I really have no clue how I could describe them to you just because I have such a love for them and their sound. But that's where you can have a listen and let me know what you think. Maybe you'll like them or maybe they're not your style either way let us know your thoughts.

The Maine - American Candy

James Bay - Chaos And The Calm

Get his album here

I heard about James Bay just before his album was released but I don't think I had a listen to him until after his album came out. I remember I was doing some cleaning, and I had his album playing and the more I listened to it the more I loved it. I really didn't think much of the album at first but after back to back plays of it I ended up truly loving it. I love albums that have to grow on you: I have no explanation as to why really, it's just the beauty of music working it's magic I guess. What were your first thoughts on his album and do you consider yourself a fan?

To Kill A King - To Kill A King

Okay, so I'm a little disappointed in myself. I had to come back here once I realised I did not add in To Kill A King, so I'm doing so now. They released their newest album last March(obviously) and it's full of so many great sounds that I really am mad I could even forget to put them in this post. This album is truly full of back to back great songs, I don't even know if you'd be able to pick just one favourite... I know I can't. This album is one that really is perfect for any occasion. If you don't believe me, check it out and test it for yourself.

That's all we've got for this month and again let us know what artists you know of that put out an album this month so we can have a listen, we probably missed a few for sure so help us out. Tweet @SpazyArt or comment below your thoughts on the artists we've listed and who's album you love or are looking forward to the most this month.

Kodaline gig!

Kodaline performed at the beautiful Wiltern the other night and let me just say they were fantastic.  Their opener was another Irish artist Gavin James who pretty much kept all eyes and ears on him.  His voice echoed through the room and left you feeling so in the moment as everyone was pretty hushed as well.  He was amazing to watch and even better to hear live.

After Gavin James and a 25-30 minute wait, Kodaline was ready to come out, as the lights turned down and it was their time the whole room filled with screams of excitement.  They started off the set with their song 'Ready' which is off their new album "Coming Up For Air"(Out Now) and ended it all with 'All I Want' off their first album "In A Perfect World".  As they went through their setlist, every song had energy, love and was full of lots of guitar changes from Mark Prendergast.  Probably the most guitar changes I've ever seen in a set, but amazing nonetheless.  Anyways, getting back to the music… they had so much excitement from the crowd and gave a performance that left you feeling like you knew them and were just hanging out.  They had one of the best most natural performances I've seen in awhile and their one of those bands you really have to experience live yourself.

So, if you get the chance to catch Kodaline and/or Gavin James on tour you've got to.

In the meantime check out some of the photos I took at the show. (Hadn't the chance to get any of Gavin but I hope you enjoy these of Kodaline.)
